Neuvotion launches first US commercial BCI-platform product this fall

On Monday 27 July 2026, Chad Bouton's Neuvotion announced the first US commercial launch of a product from a brain-computer interface platform. NeuStim NN-01, a wearable neuromuscular stimulator for hand recovery after stroke or C5 spinal cord injury, ships this fall. Neuvotion holds an exclusive worldwide license from the Feinstein Institutes, where Bouton is senior author of the 16 July Nature Medicine paper on the underlying double neural bypass platform. The intracortical BCI half of that platform, tested in one patient (Keith Thomas), remains investigational.

Precision Neuroscience demonstrates thought-based gaming in non-paralysed volunteers

On Tuesday 21 July 2026, Precision Neuroscience announced that neurosurgical patients without paralysis, temporarily implanted with its Layer 7 subdural microelectrode array during scheduled tumor or epilepsy-monitoring procedures, controlled cursors and played Mario Kart, Pong and Fruit Ninja, scrolled Instagram, and answered FaceTime calls with their thoughts. Chief clinical officer Jayme Strauss confirmed the array is removed at bedside in under five minutes at the end of each participant's hospital stay, with the first permanent implant targeted for early 2028.
