RAND Europe report urges rules for brain-computer interfaces in workplaces, schools and the military
A report by RAND Europe and the Brussels think tank Centre for Future Generations, released on 2 November 2026 and funded by the Open Society Foundations, finds that no brain-computer interface on sale has yet shown robust enhancement beyond normal human ability in real-world conditions, and recommends regulating the devices by where and how they are used, with a right to refuse them.
